Research Context

BPC-157 (Body Protection Compound 157) is a synthetic pentadecapeptide corresponding to a 15-amino-acid partial sequence (residues 14 to 28) of a larger gastroprotective protein identified in human gastric juice. The peptide is structurally distinct from endogenous growth factors and does not share homology with any known human regulatory peptide outside its parent BPC sequence. It is supplied as a lyophilised white powder for laboratory work and is stable in acidic gastric-like conditions for extended periods in published in-vitro assays.
